MIDIKeyboard.app ("the app") is a free, browser-based tool. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. In short: the app has no user accounts, and everything you play stays on your own device.
When you grant MIDI access, the notes you play are read and interpreted entirely within your browser, on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server, stored, or shared. Sound generated by the app is produced locally in your browser and is not recorded.
The app saves a few preferences — such as your note-spelling (sharps or flats) and light/dark theme choices — using your browser's local storage. This stays on your device, is not sent anywhere, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
The app uses Google Analytics (via Google Firebase) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage information — for example, page views, general device and browser type, and approximate region. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it. This data does not identify you personally, and we do not combine it with any personal information. Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
As with any web host, standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) may be processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the site.
The app does not ask for, collect, or store names, email addresses, or other personal information, and there are no user accounts. If you choose to email us, we will only use your message to respond to you.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
